Allie Dancy

If you spend enough time around New York’s coffee scene, chances are you’ve 1. drank a Variety Coffee beverage and rated it in your top 5 cups in all of NYC and 2. crossed paths with Allie Dancy. With 14 years in specialty coffee, Allie is the Director of Wholesale at Variety Coffee Roasters, where she works closely with coffee shops and industry folks across the city. We sat down with Allie to break down a day in her life.

Breaking Down With Allie Dancy

Enjoying a cup of coffee and a snack with one of my kids before we head off to school!
— 6:30 AM
Head to the office for a meeting with the team while our production team loads in the deliveries for the day.
— 8AM
The directors gather for our weekly cuppings to taste the current menu and talk about upcoming releases. I think this may count as 2 or 3 cups of coffee before 10am.
— 9AM
That doesn’t really stop me from loading up on one final cup before I hit the road to visit accounts.
— 10AM
Visiting some of my favorite accounts and seeing the exciting things on their menus.
— 12 PM
Before I head back to the office, I try to stop in at a Variety Cafe to say “hi” to our team working behind the counter and making the best iced americanos around (is this coffee #5?)

— 2 PM
Usually finishing my day back at the office, catching up with the team and seeing how their days are going.

— 4 PM
