Editorial and Digital Marketing Extern

Job Description

Busboy is looking for an Editorial and Digital Marketing Extern who has a strong interest in the food, beverage and hospitality industry. You will be working directly with both founders on the editorial side of Busboy.

You will help us focus on building out our editorial stories by growing our content pillars through ideation, project management and outreach. You will also focus on helping grow our organic social media channels and growing onto other platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok and Twitter - including interacting with restaurants, chefs, industry experts and diners to establish our social media community.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee community management through Direct Message, comments and interactions.

  • Assist with scheduling content on Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter and Facebook via platforms and/or content management tools.

  • Plan, edit content and write copy for social media posts. 

  • Help project management our ongoing editorial projects through email correspondence

  • Edit and set up content in Squarespace 

  • Actively engage with our restaurants, chefs, restaurateurs, and other relevant social accounts and flag potential new talent for the website. 

  • Interacting with our influencer partners and flagging potential new influencer partners

Pay Range: 

For credit only, minimum 10-15 hours/ 2-3 days a week

Hybrid - we require 1x day in person, the rest can be remote 

Qualifications

  • Greater New York City Area based

  • Currently in college pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Work experience focused in marketing, social media and events preferred but not required

  • Detail-oriented, professional and confidential 

  • Efficient, self-motivated, flexible, thrives in an entrepreneurial environment 

  • Experience using social media tools, using social monitoring, community management (i.e. Dash Hudson, Later, Planoly)

  • Experience using Squarespace is a plus, but not required. 

  • Graphic design experience is a plus, but not required. 

  • Proactive, organized and hardworking
